Join Us in Making a Difference
By joining us for this year's Moonlit Memory Walk, you're not just honoring the memories of loved ones who’ve died; you're also fueling vital work right here in your community. With the funds raised at this year's event, we’ll be able to expand several key programs and initiatives within our Eastern Ontario Chapter:
-
Partnership with Public Libraries: We've already begun collaborating with the Ottawa Library on Death Cafes & Education, and your fundraising efforts will help us further develop this partnership. We're also excited to extend our Death Education programming to additional libraries across Eastern Ontario.
-
Our Babies, Our Grief: This year, we've reintroduced monthly check-ins for individuals who've experienced pregnancy or infant loss. We're also working on customizing this support program to reach older adults who navigated their loss in an era with very limited support. And in memory of 15-month-old Eric Elliott, we recently launched a scholarship fund to train more Infant & Pregnancy Loss Support Professionals. Your fundraising contributions help us sustain and grow all these aspects of our Pre and Perinatal Hospice program.
-
Houseless Hospice Project: Over the last several months, we've been developing a complete care offering that addresses the dying, death and grief needs of the houseless and street involved population. Your donations will support a local pilot program that develops comprehensive services and support to houseless individuals facing death in the Ottawa area.
-
And more! Explore our Eastern Ontario Chapter page for details on additional initiatives shaping our community.
Your participation in the Moonlit Memory Walk propels these efforts forward, ensuring that essential programs thrive and support reaches those who need it most in our region.
